1939 thru 1942
1939
Something
may have
been
happening
at Midwest
as major
changes
were made
in 1939
and 1940.
Cabinets
were
smaller
and
chassis
design
was
compromised
when
compared
to earlier
years.
Motorized
tuning
with
Automatic
Frequency
Control
(AFC) is
utilized
on the 12
and 17
tube
chassis.

1940
Midwest's
20th
Anniversary.
Seventeen tube chassis
design
remains
basically
unchanged
from
1939.

1941
Chassis
design was
greatly
improved.
Station
pushbuttons
are now
mechanical.
Attractive
half-round
dial
utilized
on 12 and
18 tube
chassis.
There were at least two printings of the 1941
Midwest Catalog.
The main difference is the Red Catalog shows the large chassis
having 18 tubes.
The Blue Catalog shows the large chassis having 17 tubes.
Your 1941 Midwest may have either chassis.

Sixteen

a
great
performer.
