1948 Midwest Symphony Grand radio & phonograph model RG-16

This radio features the Series 16 (model 816) sixteen tube chassis with
push-button tuning, 14.5" speaker and electron-ray tuning eye. It has 5 bands:
Standard Broadcast, 3 short wave and FM with Automatic Frequency Control
(FM band covers 88 to 108 Megahertz but shown as Channels).
The automatic phonograph plays 78 RPM records only.
Cabinet measures 35.5" wide, 39" high, and 16.5" deep.
Price when new: $239

I find this a very good performing and great sounding radio.
With the modern FM band it makes it a very listenable
radio even today.

Many Midwest's consoles from 1946 to 1954
share this same style of cabinetry.
Midwest must have done well after WW-II as I get more
inquires about post-war models than any other series.

Phonograph slides out on a drawer for easy access.

Stripped copper face place and maroon escutcheon make for a colorful control panel.
